L&L Orthodontics are a family-focused orthodontic practice. After all, our specialist orthodontists, Dr Lavrin and Dr Lawrence have three children of their own. That is why parents are encouraged to bring their children in for an early orthodontic consultation. 

Early intervention

As parents, there are a lot of things we need to do for our children. High on the priority list should be establishing a good oral hygiene routine. Keeping your child’s teeth in good health is important, not just because healthy teeth look good, but because healthy teeth are good for a child’s overall wellbeing. 

The Australian Society of Orthodontists (ASO) recommends children have an orthodontic consultation around the age of seven. At this stage in a child’s development we can identify any potential orthodontic problems which may arise in the future. If they need to be treated then we can, otherwise we can monitor the growth of your child’s teeth and begin treatment at the optimal time.

  • Invisalign First - Invisalign First is the next generation of Invisalign products and is very special. Invisalign First enables children whose teeth are still growing to use Invisalign aligners to straighten their teeth. Invisalign First is an early orthodontic treatment that offers parents of children the option to avoid traditional metal braces. 
    Invisalign aligners are a registered medical device, you should always read and follow the label and the instructions of your treating orthodontist.
  • Metal Braces - For the vast majority of orthodontic patients, wearing fixed appliances (commonly called braces) will be a major part of treatment — and those braces, for the most part, will be the familiar silvery-metal type.
